Privacy policy
This policy describes what the site actually does, in the order you would ask about it. It is short because most of what a website usually does, this one does not.
Your documents
PDF files you choose are read and processed inside your browser. They are not uploaded, not transmitted, not stored, and not seen by this site's operators. When you close the tab, nothing about the document remains: there is no history list, no recent-files feature and no server-side copy, because no copy was ever made outside your own device's memory.
What is collected
- No accounts. No name, email address or password is requested or stored, because there is no account system at all.
- No tracking cookies from us. The site itself sets no cookies for analytics or profiling. The advertising script described below may set cookies in your browser; those cookies are Google's, not ours, and this site never reads them.
- No analytics service. Nothing measures you. There is no Google Analytics script and no tracking pixel, and nothing records sessions or builds heat maps.
- One third-party request: Google AdSense. The page's own scripts, stylesheet, fonts and
icons are served from this domain. The only outside code is Google's advertising script, loaded from
googlesyndication.comand its related Google domains. Google receives your IP address, your user agent string and the page you opened, and may set advertising cookies. This site does not control that data; Google's own privacy policy governs it. The Content-Security-Policy allows those Google domains and no others. - Advertising. The site carries Google AdSense ads. Your document is never sent to Google, because it never leaves your browser in the first place.
Advertising and cookies
This site shows ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. How Google uses data is described in Google's advertising policies.
None of this changes what happens to your PDF. The file is read and rewritten inside your browser and is never sent anywhere, including to Google.
What the hosting provider can see
Like any website, the pages are delivered by a hosting provider, and delivering a page means the provider's servers receive ordinary request information: your IP address, your browser's user agent string, and the URL you asked for. That is standard technical logging for serving a web page. It does not contain your document, and it is not used by this site to build a profile of you. Aggregated traffic figures may be used to understand which pages are useful.
If you write to the contact address, your message and email address are kept only so that the conversation can continue. They are not added to a mailing list, and there is no newsletter. Please do not attach the document you are working on: a description of what happened is enough, and sending the file would defeat the point of using a tool that never asks for it.
Children
The site is a document utility. It has no accounts, accepts no user-generated content and carries no personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Data-protection rules give you rights over personal data that is held about you. This site holds none: not an account, not a profile, not an analytics record. If you have emailed and want that correspondence deleted, ask and it will be deleted.
Changes
If this policy changes (for example because a feature is added that does involve a server), the date at the top will change and the substance of the change will be described here rather than buried. Any feature that contradicted the claims above would require rewriting this page first, which is the intended order.
Questions about privacy
The security architecture page goes into more detail about how the processing works and how to verify it in your own browser. Anything left unanswered, ask via contact.
